If you find the heat of the Dubai desert a little too hard to bear, and a swim in the Persian Gulf of your Jumeirah Beach hotel not cooling you enough, head over to the Mall of the Emirates shopping centre where you can Ski Dubai.
Ski Dubai, Mall of the Emirates
Inside this gargantuan mall, you’ll find an indoor ski resort complete with chair lift, where you can take to the slopes on skis, enjoy snowboarding and tobogganing, or be like a kid and just play in the snow.
With 3000 square meters, Ski Dubai is deemed to be the largest indoor snow park in the world and attracts visitors and locals alike.
Accommodating 1500 guests at full capacity, you can enjoy the comforts of -1º to -2º while the city swelters outside.
A slope pass gives you access to Ski Dubai and the rental of equipment and clothing is included in the ticket price.
There are ski-themed restaurants to remind you of the slopes of Europe such as St Moritz Café at the entrance to Ski Dubai and the Avalanche Café located at mid-station which offers views of the slope.
There are 5 different ski runs, each varies in difficulty level and length, with the longest extending over 400 metres.
If you can’t ski, there is a team of instructors that can guide you in skiing or snowboarding.
Tobogganing near the desert never looked so much fun.

Unbelievable!! 🙂
Believe it… it’s incredible to watch!! 🙂
It’s amazing that this has been built in a shopping centre!
Great for the older children whilst you go shopping!!
The Mall of the Emirates is like a mini city. It even has a hotel, amazing place! And good point about keeping older kids occupied while shopping…
You’ve gotta the UAE for all of their crazy fun projects. I’ve seen this indoor ski thing (while sitting on the otherside of the glass in the warm restaurant that overlooks it with a cocktail in hand, rather than strapping on my skis and taking to the slopes) 🙂 Did you get over to Abu Dhabi while there? They have a mall there where it regularly rains inside the mall….cracks me up!
We didn’t make it to Abu Dhabi but it’s on our travel plans (which were cancelled this year). Can’t wait to do a comparison!
Crazy! I think I heard this existed but never really believed it was true – just showed the hubby the photos and he’s set on going, lol..We’ll have to do a comparison between skiing France & Dubai!
Do it! 🙂 We only looked and took photos from the outside. Apparently on some days, it’s full of people riding up and down those slopes!
