Late-night drinking and dining is coming to Sydney’s iconic Queen Victoria Building when Reign at the QVB and Esquire Drink + Dine open this month.

Champagne parlour and bar, Reign at the QVB, and bar and dining room, Esquire Drink + Dine are set to open on 15 March and 28 March respectively. Both venues are set to put the sparkle back into Sydney’s nightlife as they will be open seven days for lunch and dinner and until 2am from Thursday to Sunday.

Reign at the QVB is a Champagne Parlour and Bar opening on 15 March. The venue is located in the former ABC store on level one of the QVB. Set amongst lush marble, brass and soft musk tones, and framed by a Romanesque arch window overlooking Town Hall, guests can enjoy a tasting flight through the Champagne region, or sip on a cocktail.

Over 150 Champagnes and sparkling wines alongside an array of light share-plates will be on offer. Dishes include king brown mushroom and pork fried rice, and thyme and honey ice-cream sandwich with plums. Reign will be open for lunch and dinner on weekdays and brunch through to dinner on weekends.

Opening 28 March, ESQUIRE Drink + Dine is a bar and dining room located on level two of the QVB. Channelling the look and vibe of a New York supper club, the venue offers reimagined modern-Australian comfort classics alongside spirits and cocktails.

Old-world glamour, a dark oak bar framed with mosaic and parquetry flooring, soft leather seating and low lights are designed to make the most of the QVB’s historical Romanesque revival architecture. The bar stocks 100-plus wines as well as whisky with cocktails on offer. The food menu includes crumbed sweetbreads, Gruyere jaffle, a two-course whole roast chicken for two or a 250g Grainge Signature MB3+ Rump Cap straight from the grill. Alternatively, a taste of everything can be had with the Chef’s Table Menu.

Reign at the QVB & Esquire Drink + Dine are led by Trippas White Group, the result of a coming-together of a collective of Sydney’s hospitality heavyweights.

Hailing from Modena, Italy and previously of Sokyo at The Star and Bambini Trust Restaurant & Wine Room, sommelier Fabio Nistrio has created bespoke drink menus showcasing drops from the big houses next to smaller, lesser-known producers. Executive Chef Damien Worthington, previously of QT Hotels and The Winery, has pulled his hatted restaurant experience through the menus at both venues, crafting each bite to match Nistrio’s Champagnes and wines.

Matthew Beaumont, Group General Manager of Beverage, formerly of The Star, Sydney and Merivale, led the charge with the creation and curation of both venues and their drink and dining offering. Patricia Salomo, previously of Haru in New York City and Merivale and The Star in Sydney, will head up both venues as General Manager.
