What was the Sugarmill Hotel in Kings Cross is now the Potts Point Hotel.
The Potts Point Hotel opened with a brand-new fitout, a designated dining space along with a separate bar area and outdoor seating. The venue breathes new life into an area that has suffered due to Sydney’s lockout laws.
Headed by General Manager Chris Jolliffe, Head Chef Tushad Bamji and Head Bartender Rollo Anderson (ex The Rook), the pub is set to be a pub that the residents will seek to make their local.
The food menu is modern smokehouse-style with meats smoked daily with native woods for up to 8 hours. Dishes include Sticky beef spare-ribs, Carolina pulled pork shoulder, Kansas style buttermilk chicken and Grain fed Riverina Angus beef brisket, served with pickles and corn bread.
Rollo Anderson’s drinks menu includes a boutique beer offering with 16 beers on tap and 40 bottled. His cocktails give a nod to the area and are named after infamous Potts Point identities and include twists on classics such as Carlotta Collins, with Tanqueray, Aperol, ruby grapefruit, salted rim, Tilly’s Razorblade, with Havana Club 3, lime, honey, cayenne pepper and Rum Rafferty, with Bundaberg Small Batch, orange, clove & dark chocolate.
