Sydney restaurant Jade Temple is celebrating Chinese New Year 2018 with a specially created banquet menu.
Commemorating the Year of the Dog, the exclusive menu have been created by Neil Perry and Head Chefs Andy Evans (Spice Temple) and Peter Robertson (Jade Temple).
According to Neil Perry, the Chinese New Year banquet incorporates ingredients that promote the traditional themes of the season, including prosperity, happiness, wealth, longevity and rejuvenation. Diners are invited to experience a traditional and symbolic Chinese banquet, with every dish carrying a wish for good luck. Take a look at the menu below. The money bag shaped Jade Dragon Dumpling symbolises wealth, the crab and ginger soup reflects restoration and the pork symbolises the sharing of food at the tables and families coming together.
Each dish is exquisite with flavours coming together in harmony and the wine pairings work particularly well. The banquet ends with a perfect match between the raspberry dessert and the 2016 Braida Brachetto d’Acqui with its red berry notes and fine mousse.
