Newtown Social Club has opened the refurbished Ground Floor with a new food and drink menu.

The new look Ground Floor features a bar, a 50 seater dining area and a new cocktail lounge under the stairs which lead up to the band room.

Along with the new look, a new food and drink offering brings a solid wine list with organic and biodynamic wines. The bar has a local focus and you’ll find Australian spirits such as Archie Rose Signature Gin, 666 Tasmanian Vodka, Lark Single Malt Whisky, Ord River Rum and Tromba Tequila.

Wagyu with Roma Tomato, Basil and Mash

The all day food offering has weekly specials and a new signature meatball-focused menu for $19. “Balls of the World in Three Easy Steps” gives you ample choice.

Tofu, Eggplant, Pesto with Chermoula, Green lentils and Tomato Fondue

The Balls option features free range chicken, wagyu beef, Berkshire pork, fish and tofu. Sauces include Roma Tomato with Basil, Chermoula, Romesco, Yoghurt Tahini and Blue Cheese. Sides feature garlic mash, Moroccan spiced couscous, kale tabbouleh and buttered penne pasta among others.

Ice cream with Spiced Brandy Glaze and Berries

Dessert takes on the same principle with locally produced organic vanilla beam ice cream served with your choice of toppings and syrups.

The spiced brandy glaze with tout fruits berries is light and fruity while the Belgian dark chocolate with caramel popcorn satisfies chocoholics.
