The Bar that Jack Built
September is the birthday of Jack Daniel, and since no one knows the exact date, his birthday is always celebrated for the whole of September. This year involves an ambitious project in “The Bar That Jack Built” – the world’s first crowd-sourced bar built entirely from the love of Jack Daniel’s, by his fans. The campaign is being run through social media and kicks off with a recruitment shout-out to all Jack Daniel’s Facebook friends in NSW where the bar will be installed. They are being asked to donate materials, time, expertise and ideas in reward for Jack Daniel’s product and merchandise. The more they give, the more they get with the biggest contributors getting tickets to the big birthday bash on the 27th of September. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=832815786753077

Five competitors from Zeta Bar, Assembly Bar and Rabbit Hole Bar created a gin fizz cocktail using No.3 London Dry Gin which is featured in our Top 10 Gin article.
L-R: Corinne Mossati, Jason Soto, Doug Laming
Judging the bartender competition were Doug Laming (Rabbit Hole Bar), Jason Soto (Assembly Bar) and Corinne Mossati (Gourmantic).
The Dr. Fizz cocktail is a combination of No 3 London Dry Gin, fresh lemon juice, yuzu shochu, home-made salted cardamon monkey pear syrup with hand-carved ice cubes with frozen raspberry. A big lemon wheel sits on top of the ice to hold back the chai whipped cream. The cocktail is garnished with a cinnamon stick used as spoon to eat cream before taking a sip.
