Eichardt’s Private Hotel is located along Lake Wakatipu and is situated 8 km from Queenstown Airport and right beside the town’s centre and hub of dining and entertainment activities. The hotel offers luxury accommodation in five suites with an additional four lakefront apartments.

A comfortable king size bed with fluffy pillows and crisp white sheets adds a touch of elegance and luxury. The bedroom can be separated from the living area by shutters that cloak the room in darkness.

The apartment is equipped with a washer, dryer, microwave, induction cooktop, fridge, hairdryer, iron and ironing board as well as coffee and tea making facilities. Tap water is drinkable in Queenstown but you’ll find bottled water in the fridge and by the bedside table.

Fireplace

A large, concealed flat screen television set hides beneath a painting and a roaring stone-surrounded fireplace adds a romantic vibe to the room. Wifi is also included. Antique timber cabinets, a casual dining table for four persons and a lacquered wooden box containing stationery and an international plug give it a welcoming and homely feel.

The shower is large enough for two, and with a double sink you can spread your toiletries as much as you like. Gilchrist & Soames provide the in-room amenities including relaxing bath salts.

Located in the main building off the hotel’s foyer, you’ll find Eichardt’s Bar, an inviting place to enjoy a drink from the bar and snack on tasty tapas.

Relax in comfortable sofas around a central metal fireplace and wood boxes. Two metal-studded tables complement the design with rounded corners and rustic elegance.

The Bar

The bar’s wine list includes Otago and regional classics from around New Zealand as well as international wines. Keep an eye out on Mt Edward Pinot Noir produced exclusively for Eichardt’s Bar.

The cocktail list is divided into Classic Cocktails with the likes of a Bloody Mary as well Eichardt’s Spring Collection menu. The bar team can also prepare your favourite drink from a succinct but diverse range of spirits.

Eichardt’s Bar also serves tapas style dishes made from local produce from 3 pm till late.

Breakfast is served at Eichardt’s Bar and you can choose dishes from an a la carte menu ranging from warm brioche with butter and homemade jam to egg-based breakfast dishes.

Eggs Benedict with home-made sourdough English muffin, poached free range eggs, hollandaise sauce with hot-smoked salmon ($18 NZD) are guaranteed to fill you until lunchtime. The hot-smoked salmon filling is generous and delicious to eat on its own.
