Christmas Gift Guide 2018: Botanic Garden Grown Gin

Christmas Gift Guide 2018

This could arguably be the most Australian gift in this guide and a gift with a good cause. Garden Grown Gin (previously called Distillery Botanica Gin) has partnered with the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan to create a new limited-edition ‘Botanic Garden Grown Gin’ using rare Australian botanicals from Australia’s largest botanic garden.

The gin was crafted by Master Distiller Philip Moore of Distillery Botanica in Erina using the process of “enfleurage”, a thousand-year-old French technique favoured by perfumers. Botanicals include juniper berries and Australian natives such as orange berry, ginger rhizome, mount white lime, wombat berry, macadamia and bunya pine nut. The gin is juniper forward with underlying spice and citrus and a creamy mouth feel with a long finish.

This is a limited edition gin so be quick. Proceeds from sales of the limited-edition gin will go towards the Garden’s conservation initiatives.

Recommended serve: Martini, neat or over ice, with Fever-Tree aromatic tonic

RRP: $129
