Though it opened in 2014, Bowery Lane hosted a Locals Launch with an evening of New York Style bites and jazz. The New York yellow cab parked in front of the venue set the scene for an elegant soiree showcasing some of the best in food and drink.

Takings its name from a laneway on New York’s Manhattan Island, Bowery Lane is located in Sydney’s CBD along O’Connell Street a short walk from Wynyard Station. With a glass and steel lobby, a slick fitout with tall booths, black leather banquettes, communal tables, a combination of exposed brick walls and raw concrete, the venue feels at home in the financial hub of Sydney’s CBD.
Cocktails flowed all evening with the highlight being The Penicillin, a Sam Ross creation made with Monkey Shoulder whisky, honey, lemon and ginger with a Laphroiag whisky float.
Menu highlights included an oyster bar serving freshly-shucked oysters, Manchego Croquettes with harissa aioli, fried parmesan polenta, crispy hot fried chix wings with pink eye mayo and a suckling pig station serving pulled pork in a soft roll with coleslaw and aioli.
The Locals Launch Night at Bowery Lane was held on Thursday 26 February 2015. Well worth coming back at lunch or dinner for the full experience.
