Like the committed lover who never lets you go, Paris has a unique way of reeling the visitor to its heart. Just when you think you have seen on your previous visits all it has to offer, the city of love knows how to reignite the passion it sparked the moment you first arrived.
Paris had a unique way of presenting us with surprises. Just as it did with the 50th Anniversary of Astérix and Obélix.
Strolling along its most famed avenue on the way to the macron temple of Ladurée, we stumbled across an outdoor exhibition of French Vogue covers. Large-sized replicas of the magazine covers lined up the famed Champs-Elysées, offering a retrospective look into fashion and photography in commemoration of 90 years of French Vogue magazine.
Fashion icons including Catherine Deneuve, Brigitte Bardot, Audrey Hepburn and Twiggy mesmerised the passers-by who paused and reflected on the idols of yesteryear. The photography of legends such as Robert Doisneau, Salvador Dali, Joan Miró, Andy Warhol, Helmut Newton, David Hockney turned the tree-lined avenue into a museum where art was admired.
Highlights of the Vogue Covers’ Exposition are in the photo gallery below.
Exposition Vogue Covers aux Champs-Elysées ran from October 1st to November 1st in 2009.

The only non beautiful person (looks wise) in these images is Mr Hitchcock, but he still manages to look good. Would love to see this.
Cate: He does look out of place but what a photograph!
