The Olsen is one of the luxury Art Series Hotels in Melbourne inspired by and dedicated to Australian artists. Each hotel is themed against its namesake, in this instance John Olsen. Original art works and giclée prints, which are individually produced, give the feeling of staying in a well-appointed gallery.

Welcoming you into The Olsen is The Yellow Sun and The Yarra by John Olsen which depicts the living river through the heart of the city and was commissioned for The Olsen hotel and a sculpture of one of Olsen’s fascination, Frog.
Lekker Bicycles
You can take in the surrounding streets and parks on a vintage inspired Lekker bicycle,
Smart Cars
or zip around town with eco-friendly smart cars then slip into a parking spot with ease. Electric scooters are also available.

Suite 211 at The Olsen is welcoming with a nod to its name. Art is in the decor and on the wall as well as in art books. It’s easy to relax in this haven after a day’s wander around shop, galleries or business meetings before taking in the surrounding night life of South Yarra.
Lounge
If refreshments are taken in room, the lounge has a table and Louis XVI ghost armchairs as well as a working space. A selection of art books are there for reading under the watchful eye of a likeable Olsen frog.
Wardrobe, mini bar and coffee/tea making
Wardrobe space is aplenty accompanied by drawer space, iron and a safe large enough for a laptop. A small kitchenette is available with coffee and tea making facilities.
The Bed
For those who treasure their sleep, a taste of luxury is delivered by the Art Series signature bedding which can be purchased. This is possibly the most comfortable bed around.
Bathroom
The functional bathroom, with shower, provides plenty of room for toiletries in the space behind the large vanity mirrors.

Toiletries are by evo body which provide a humorous reason for use.
Wifi is available in the room as well as in the hotel restaurants. Check in is at 2pm and check out isn’t until 11 am which affords a sleep in and breakfast.

The Olsen has various spaces, penthouses and galleries suitable for events such as Lake Eyr Penthouse on the fourteenth floor which hosted the John Walker & Sons Private Collection 2015 event.
