Sydney 697: Sydney Cider Meets OSCAR.697

Sydney hasn’t changed its postcode. Sydney 697 is a collaborative release across the miles, a craft blend of Australia’s Sydney Cider together with Italy’s OSCAR.697 Bianco Vermouth.

Sydney697

In 2018, Richard Feyn of Sydney Brewery and Stefano Di Dio of OSCAR.697 vermouth sought to bring to life a co-branded product which could combine both brands skills and identities. Grounded in the contemporary visual language of OSCAR.697, the concept explores a different approach to visualising the ‘coming together’ of elements, in line with OSCAR.697’s branding as the contemporary Italian vermouth.

OSCAR.697 is a contemporary vermouth brand, a product of tradition and the brainchild of global drinks expert, Stefano di Dio. You can read all about OSCAR.697 vermouth in this feature article.

Sydney 697 is the result of this collaboration, a refreshing drink that combines the medium sweet, crisp and refreshing flavours of Sydney Cider, with the savoury and subtle wine notes of Oscar.697 Bianco Vermouth. Serve it over ice with a wedge of orange to highlight the citrus notes. It’s ideal to enjoy in alfresco dining, poolside or down at the beach enjoying Sydney summertime with friends.

The contemporary packaging was shaped by designer David Caon and his team at CAON. Produced in a very limited batch of 3,000 cans, it is only available via Sydney Brewery in Sydney and will be sold through a small number of select outlets including The Cidery Bar World Square, Maybe Frank Surry Hills, Maybe Frank Randwick, Maybe Sammy The Rocks, The Corner House Bondi as well as Vine Providore in Redfern, Cutty Cellars in Crows Nest and Liquor Emporium in St Peters and Alexandria.
