According to a new study by Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), seven ‘Steaketypes’ or Aussie steak personalities have been identified. The Australia wide survey involved 1,088 participants, screened down to 1,041 meat-eaters. The results were rather intriguing, to say the least. There are 22 different steak cuts available, yet we, Aussies tend to stick to our favourite.

- The Rump Steak (46% of Australians) – you have a favourite routine. You are dependable and reliable.
- The T-Bone Steak (42% of Australians) – you’re a salad dodger, exuberant and humble.
- The Porterhouse Steak (30% of Australians) – you have a healthy appetite and consider yourself fearless and charming.
- The Fillet Steak (26% of Australians) – you are suave and dependable, with a focus on staying balanced and healthy.
- The Ribeye Steak (23% of Australians) – you are an adventurer and have a carefree approach to life.
- The Scotch Fillet Steak (18% of Australians) – you are a foodie, independent and meticulous.
- The Skirt Steak (4% of Australians) – you are a discerning eater, cultured and imaginative with your food choices.
With 89% of the population cracking out the BBQ this summer and 68% likely to cook steak on the barbie, your next BBQ could turn into personality profiling your friends.
