Christmas traditions chez Gourmantic have evolved over the years. From elaborate feasts that culminate in belts being loosened and nana naps on lounge chairs to more humble occasions with light summer menus, Christmas is a time we come together to celebrate and share with our families.
In keeping with European traditions, we celebrate on Christmas Eve with my family and on Christmas Day with Mr G’s. As self-appointed cooks, my mum, Mr G’s brother and I take our roles seriously and enjoy every minute of the preparations. On occasion, when time and weather permits, we celebrate with the hoards of tourists by going to Bondi Beach on Christmas Day.
In more recent years, we started a new tradition involving just the two of us. After all the formal festivities have passed, Mr G and I enjoy a Gourmantic time together.
For this Christmas post, I chose a photo beyond the conventional Christmas tree with all its shiny trimmings. Looking up beyond the colourful ornaments, there are bright blue skies interspersed with puffs of cloud, brighter horizons that beckon and possibilities as endless as the universe.
From both of us at Gourmantic, Merry Christmas to you, your families and all your loved ones.
Joyeux Noël. Buon Natale. Feliz Natal. Happy Holidays.

Merry Christmas to you and Mr G! Wishing you all sorts of
great things this holiday season!! xoxo
And to you and Mr N! May Santa bring you everything you desire 🙂
Merry Christmas Corinne to you and yours! Hope it’s a good one. We’re looking forward to the cricket between England and Australia on Boxing Day (it starts Christmas night here.) Beautiful weather at the moment so we might even pretend we’re in Australia and have a Boxing Day barbecue! 🙂
That sounds lovely! I hope the weather holds out and you have a warm and festive time 🙂
Merry Christmas Corinne! I hope you have a wonderful day.

And to you and Patrick wherever you may be travelling! 🙂

Corinne – I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I’ve loved
traveling with you this year. I look forward to traveling with you,
virtually (and maybe one day actually) in 2011.
Same with me, Kathy. I hope we meet some day in Italy or France and eat our way around the smaller towns together 🙂
