They had us at Black Lobster Pizza.
The Pizza Box which recently opened inside Alexandria’s Salt Meats Cheese is a shipping container housing a wood-fired oven shipped from Naples. The pizzas are made using ingredients available for sale on site with a discount after 6pm.
Salt Meats Cheese The Pizza Box
The pizza menu includes well-loved varieties such as Four Cheese with mozzarella, parmesan, fromage blanc and gorgonzola, Chorizo with tomato, fontina and chilli oil and the Calzone with double smoked ham, mushroom, ricotta and spinach.
The Black Lobster Pizza
From the signature Pizzas comes The Black Lobster($27) made with lobster tail on a squid ink pizza with fontina, mozzarella, garlic oil and thyme. The black base is one of the best we’ve tasted, but if the squid ink dough is not for you, you can order it with a regular white base.
Bresaola
Also from the Signature menu is the Bresaola ($22) with generous slices of bresaola, parmesan, caramelised onion, rocket with a splash of balsamic.
Dessert includes Tiramisu ($12) and a Nutella Bomb ($8) or go all out with milk chocolate coated profiteroles ($9) with vanilla cream.
The Pizza Box is open 7 nights a week from 5pm.
